The research in this group mainly focuses on theory of Bose-Einstein Condensation and Ultracold Fermionic Atomic Gases. Cold atomic quantum gases continue to attract a lot of attention due to their high degree of control, tunability and versatility. The rapid progress in the laser cooling techniques gives us an opptunity to create and manipulate multi-component condensate, including topological excitations like vortex and skymion and the observation of quantum tunneling effect therein. The use of Feshbach resonance and optical lattice makes it possible to explore the strongly correlated physics with cold atoms, such as Quantum Phase Transition, Low-Dimensional System, BCS-BEC Crossover, etc.
We are also interested in tunneling problems and phase transitions in other physical systems, for example, Phase transitions in Macroscopic Quantum Tunneling of Magnetization, Bubble nucleation in /phi^4 models in the thick and thin wall limits, Quantum optics and light/matter interaction.
